Review: MAC Stereo Rose

I admit I fell for the hype on this one (which seems to be happening a lot lately).
I remember when this product was first launched & how upset I was that I didn't get my hands on it!
When I found out Stereo Rose was being promoted again I simply couldn't resist!
*note-I can't seem to find it online anymore so it could be sold-out*
MAC MSF in Stereo Rose-£21.50
MAC's MSF called Soft & Gentle is an easy blush/highlighter for me to wear so
I thought Stereo Rose would be along the same lines.
BUT the first time I applied it I found Stereo Rose to be a bit difficult to wear.
I can't really explain why but I just felt like it didn't look quite right on me!
I kept trying and I *think* I'm starting to come around-I'll LOVE it in the summer.
Stereo Rose is a coral colour with dark gold veining throughout.
I love a bit of shimmer on my cheeks and it also doubles as a highlighter which is handy.
In other words you don't need to use an additional highligher on your cheekbones with this one.
Stereo Rose has a VERY frosty finish-probably the same amount as Soft & Gentle but I seem to notice it more in this product for some reason. Maybe because it's darker?
I find it easiest to apply with my MAC 188 brush which gives a bit more of a subtle look.
My overal verdict is:
I like it but I don't think it's worth the same hype it had back in 2010 or whenever it was first released.
If I apply too much of this I look like a lobster which isn't the most flattering look on me.
If you're fair skinned you can definitely pull this off but it takes a lot of blending.

As I said, I think it will be really great in the summertime when I have a *bit* more colour in my face.
Not essential in my opinion however a lot of people think differently!

What are your thoughts on Stereo Rose?
Worth the hype or not so much?
