Face of the Day #3 | Pink

I thought I'd ditch the dark lipsticks and matte eyeshadows today and go for something on the opposite end of the makeup spectrum. I'll admit, this is WAY out of my comfort zone-I'm even wearing mascara on my bottom lashes! WHO AM I? But it's nice to mix things up a bit & show you that I CAN branch out a bit! Enough with the dramatics & onto the products I used to achieve this "Pink" look .
As you can see I really piled on the blush for the purpose of this photo, which by the way is a cream blusher by Illamasqua called Rude*.  I normally wouldn't wear this much, but it wasn't showing at all in the camera, so I thought I'd take one for the team! Everytime I wear a cream blush I remember just how much I adore them. They give such a natural, dewy flush to the cheeks and they're really easy to apply.
THE FACE:
I've been giving the new Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation a trial run for the past week or so and I'll be honest-IT'S LOVE! I'm going to do an entire post dedicated to it in the near future so stay tuned for that if you're interested. In short, it's light/medium coverage, slightly build-able & very natural looking. The shade is perfection (120 Vanilla) against my skin. I've fallen...hard.
I also whacked on a bit of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as well as some MAC MSFN in the shade Light. I set my base with a spritz ofUrban Decay All Nighter Spray because I want my makeup to last all evening.

THE EYES:
I wanted something light and "cutesee" for the eyes so Stila's Kitten was the obvious choice. I applied a bit of the Smudge Pot (which by the way I do not recommend. The consistency is horrible) and some of the Stila Kitten Eyeshadow on top to set it. Two coats of Rimmel's new fibre mascara (available on February 20th for £7.99) called Lash Accelerator Endless* and I was done.

LIPS:
As I said, I wanted to go for a more "fresh" look and to be honest the YSL Volupté Sheer Candy* in shade 12 Tasty Raspberry from their Spring Collection was the item that really spurred me on to create this look. I'm a massive fan of these lipsticks (Luscious Cherry is my fave) and oddly enough LOVE this slightly shimmery shade. It's very low maintenance and I think it really brightens up my complexion.
NOTEWORTHY BRUSHES:
I used the Real Techniques Expert Face Brushwith the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and I have to say I ADORED the way it applied it. I'm so smitten with the RT Buffing Brush that I forget how amazing this one is. I have a feeling it's going to take a more permanent place in my foundation routine.
***
For cream blushes, I ALWAYS use myReal Techniques Stippling Brush
It is PERFECT & there's nothing more I need to say on the subject.
NAILS:
I bought this Butter London polish called Primrose Hill Picnic on a whim a week or two ago & have really been loving it. Again, it's not my typical shade, but clearly I'm loving pink at the moment.

Do you ever purposefully try to get out of your makeup comfort zone?
Are light pink lipsticks and pink blushes your normal look or are you more like me and prefer a dark lip?
