Review | Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Revlon is my favourite drugstore brand & I'm already a pretty massive fan of Revlon Colourstay Foundation so when I heard they were coming out with a lighter coverage foundation called Nearly Naked I just about had a makeup meltdown...in a good way. My skin is usually pretty well behaved so I've been ditching my more full coverage foundations for something a bit lighter and comfortable on the skin (usually my Bobbi Brown Balm) so I couldn't resist giving this a go!
From the moment I tested this on my hand a few weeks ago I knew it reminded me of NARS Sheer Glow. I'm not saying they're dupes, but there's something very similar about them. Nearly Naked isn't as watery, but they look quite similar on the skin. I'd say the Nearly Naked coverage is about light/medium (NARS Sheer Glow has about medium coverage in my opinion).

All in all, Nearly Naked looks really natural on my skin, doesn't make my skin itchy (which a lot of foundations do), is dewy without being shiny and just looks plain NICE! It's a NICE foundation!
I really love applying this foundation lightly all over my face using a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and then using my concealer on any redness/blemishes. It gives flawless coverage without looking like you piled on every makeup product you own.
No pump. No frickin' pump ahhh!
Okay. To be honest it doesn't bother me when foundations don't have pumps, but I can definitely see the frustration here. I do find myself pouring out too much foundation and having to do this weird sort of manoeuvre trying to get it back in the bottle. I just wish you could buy some sort of universal foundation pump that would work on any bottle! Did I just dream up a multi-million dollar idea?

Back to the foundation! I really don't have a bad thing to say about it! It's definitely replaced my Revlon Colourstay because I prefer the more natural coverage so I guess that makes Nearly Naked my new favourite drugstore foundation! Exciting times!

I have normal/dry/dehydrated skin and found it didn't cling to any dry patches (although I don't have that many at the moment) and didn't leave my skin feeling tight. Lasting power has also been great with this foundation, but I rarely wear foundation longer than 8 hours.
Is the shade light enough for my skin?
Before I even consider formula I think about the colour. There's no sense getting a foundation with a great formula if it's going to look orange on me. I am very pale, but have a yellow undertone to my skin. There's a shade lighter than Vanilla, but it's more pink toned (called Ivory) which doesn't suit me.

NARS Sheer Glow in the shade Siberia is such a wonderful shade match for me so I always end up comparing other foundations to it. As you can see, both of my other Revlon foundations are much darker than Siberia. That doesn't mean I can't get away with the colour, but it definitely takes a bit more blending. It's a bit tricky to tell from this photo (I went to every room in the flat looking for the best light and ended up in the bathroom), but theNearly Naked Foundation in Vanilla is in fact lighter than the Revlon Colourstay in Buff. I wear all three of these foundations, but as I said it takes a little more blending.
Nothing I can't handle, though.

It's hard to tell what this foundation looks like on the skin in photographs, but I was indeed
wearing it in my recent FOTD.
I'll be doing a tutorial with this foundation shortly on my YouTube channel so hopefully that will give you an even better idea!

Obviously Revlon was channelling their inner Urban Decay when they designed the bottle/name, but I don't judge here. No judging whatsoever. I haven't tried the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation so I'm not sure how they compare, but I'd love to know in the comments if you've tried both!

Have you tried this foundation yet? Will you be giving it a go?
Do you also prefer a lighter coverage or are you a full coverage kinda gal?
