It's easy to get stuck in a "makeup rut" and I'm the first to raise my hand and say I'm guilty of it.
I often use the same products for months on end because it's just easier than trying something new.
This year, I'm making it my mission to start using some different products instead of reaching
for the same old lipstick day after day.

THE FACE:
Today I wanted to keep my base relatively light. I used theReal Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush with the MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC15) to cover up any redness/blemishes on my skin.
Next I used the RT Buffing Brush to dust a light layer of the Clarins Ever Matte Mineral Powder (Transparent Light)* all over my skin. I'm absolutely LOVING this powder by the way!
It smells a bit like cucumber and is very smooth feeling.

Because I used powder, I wanted to add a bit of the Balance Me Hydrating Face Mist* to give my skin a more natural glow. I love the product itself but the first time I tried it I thought, "Wow, this smells like lasagne!" I'm getting used to the scent but even Aslan agrees there is a definite pasta sauce resemblance.
THE EYES:
Slapped on a bit of my MAC Painterly Paintpot and using a MAC 217 brush applied a mixture of Wedge & Patina all over the lid. Eyebrows are always the same: MAC eyeshadows Charcoal Brown & Omega applied with an angled brush. No liner for me these days so I finished it off with one coat of the AMAZING d.j.v. Beautenizer Volume Lash* available from Cult Beauty.
CHEEKS & LIPS:
I did some VERY subtle contouring with my Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed.
The star of the show in my opinion is theRimmel Apocalips* in the shade Celestialwhich is a really wearable muted pink shade.
