My jaw hit the floor when I found out I'd been invited to the launch of Stella McCartney's new fragrance and in fact, I had to re-read the part that said Stella herself would be there in the flesh.
Awestruck feelings aside, I was actually really excited about the fragrance itself as I'm a fan of her other scents (especially the limited edition version of her ever popular 'Stella' fragrance called 'Summer Rose'). Myself and a few other bloggers ambled our way to the Fulham Road store and feasted our eyes on some stunning fashion articles.

A girl can dream *sigh*.

As we all waited patiently in our seats we heard the clip-clop of her ENORMOUS boots coming down the stairs. Needless to say, the room was silent. Luckily Stella has quite the sense of humour and made the whole thing very comfortable & easy-going which is always nice.

Stella draped her gorrrgeous royal blue coat on the back of her chair like an absolute BOSS and proceeded to tell us a little bit about the fragrance, her experience making fragrances and even hinted at the prospect of a cosmetics line? Yeahhh that would be INCREDIBLE!

I own the original L.I.L.Y fragrance which although isn't my favourite, I still like.
In comparison, 'Absolute' is much deeper-mixing light florals with black truffle, pepper,
oak moss and amber. Very sophisticated and even my boyfriend said I smelled good today which is something he never comments on ordinarily!

After doing some quick googling of Lily of the Valley, I discovered that it's actually poisonous!
A rather extensive search of "poisonous plants" ensued until I snapped back into the reality & realised I needed to write this post. I actually *love* the look of this flower and clearly Stella does too. A big inspiration for this fragrance was to explore contrasts. She spoke a bit about the contrast of the feminine part of the flower & then onto the more minimalist aspect of it (the root, soil etc.).

Again on the 'contrasting' topic, she decided to put this gold frame around her signature circle design.
Really sophisticated if you ask me (although I'm more of a silver kinda gal) ;)
Last night I was chillin' with the stars & now I'm scarfing down a pack of digestive cookies while
watching Judge Judy. Talk about a contrast, eh?
Are you a fan of Stella's perfumes or Stella in general?
Think you'll be running down to Selfridges to give this fragrance a whirl?
